Calender

Printed materials are transported from the paper conveyor table to the calendering belt between the hot and pressurized rollers, where the coating is attached to the surface of the calendering belt and calendered under the action of temperature and pressure. After calendering, the varnish layer gradually cools down to form a bright surface layer.
Through the implementation of the national debt project in 2000, SLMC has successively introduced the manufacturing technology of 6000mm/1000mpm soft calender and crown controlled roll from Finland VALMET. Through systematic learning and independent innovation from practice, we researched and manufactured swimming roll calender and multi-zone crown controlled calender, which is the first one to realized domestication in China.

In contrast to hard rolls calendering, soft rolls calendering can be used with swimming rolls and crown controlled rolls for line pressure adjustment and deflection compensation. This results in consistent tightness of the pressed paper, improved thickness, uniformity, opacity, elimination of color casts, and improved gloss and smoothness of the paper.
